WELCOME TO COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION (CRR) WEEK

CRR Week is a time when fire agencies promote the community’s awareness of community risk reduction. We do this by sharing with you our important, proactive, risk mitigation efforts. CRR Week begins on Martin Luther King Day, a National Day of Service. This year, CRR Week will run from January 17, through January 23.
CRR is a data-driven process that allows us to identify and prioritize risks in our community. We can then decide how to mitigate or prevent those risks by using one or more of the CRR strategies. The five CRR strategies (the 5E’s of CRR) include: Emergency Response, Education, Enforcement, Engineering, and Economic Incentives. The goal of CRR is to build healthy, safe, and resilient communities.
All three of the municipalities we serve (Liberty Lake, Millwood, and Spokane Valley) have proclaimed the week of January 17-23 as CRR Week. Join us this week as we explore the 5E’s of CRR. Each day we will highlight and show you how we incorporate a different strategy into our work. Feel free to contact us if you would like additional information on how you can help reduce risks.
