2020 AUDIT BRINGS A STELLAR REVIEW RATING
The Washington State Auditor’s Office released the results of our 2017 & 2018 Accountability Audit and Financial Audit. The Accountability Audit reviews whether Spokane Valley Fire Department operations were in compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, our own policies, and provided safeguarding of public resources. The Financial Statement Audit reviews whether our financial statements met the reporting requirements of Washington State statutes.
There are four types of audit reports: an unqualified opinion, a qualified opinion, an adverse opinion, and a disclaimer of opinion. An unqualified or “clean” opinion is the best type of report a business can get.
Spokane Valley Fire Department received an unqualified opinion on our reports! At SVFD we strive to be fiscally responsible, to keep public trust, and to honor public safety.
Thank you Spokane Valley Community, Liberty Lake, Millwood, and those unincorporated areas SVFD serves, for entrusting us with your safety.
