SPOKANE VALLEY FIRE IS TRAINING ON THE SPOKANE RIVER THIS WEEK
SWIFTWATER CREWS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISPATCHED TO SEVERAL RESCUE CALLS

The Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) is training on the Spokane River with their Swiftwater Rescue crews.
Training will include:
- Dry Land practice and safety refresher training
- Practical application on the water with Special Operation crews and full contact rescue
WHEN: Friday, May 14, 2021
TIME: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Dry Land Practice: westside of the bridge, northside of the river at Sullivan Park
On Water Training: westside of the bridge, southside of the river on the water
Both training sites are visible from Sullivan Park
“We have already been dispatched to several emergencies out on the river this spring,” said Battalion Chief, Andy Rorie. “This training is essential for our crews to prepare for an increase in river usage with warmer temperatures and summer arriving.”
