SPOKANE VALLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT IS ICE RESCUE TRAINING
LIVE TRAINING WILL BE ON NEWMAN LAKE

Spokane Valley Fire Department will be conducting their annual Ice Rescue Training.
WHEN: January 12-14
WHERE: Newman Lake public boat launch
WHAT: Ice Rescue Training
FORMAT: Daily training will consist of two sessions; classroom, and live training
Session 1
- Classroom instruction at 9:30 a.m.
- LIVE training on the lake at 10:30 a.m.
Session 2
- Classroom instruction at 1:30 p.m.
- LIVE training on the lake at 2:30 p.m.
The live training will include victim retrieval and recovery and will last approximately two hours.
The Spokane Valley Fire Department would like to remind residents to follow ice safety practices regarding bodies of water. Never leave children unattended near or on frozen bodies of water. Call 911 immediately if you see someone fall through the ice. And never attempt to rescue animals or wildlife. Always call 911 immediately for help. Stay safe, stay alert.
