SPOKANE VALLEY FIRE BRINGS ON ADDITIONAL ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE UNIT
SVFD EMS SERVICE CALLS CONTINUE TO BE TOP CALL
******************************************************
Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) has a new Alternative Response Unit (ARU). Following the achievements of the Spokane Valley Fire Department’s first Alternative Response Unit (ARU), SVFD is happy to announce the arrival of a second ARU that will further the goals and objectives for quality and timely service to our community.
“The new ARU will supplement our current EMS delivery model and continue to deliver quality and timely service to our community,” said Spokane Valley Fire Department Chief, Bryan Collins. “Additionally and equally important, it will have a positive impact on crews experiencing the largest run volumes.”
Implementing an additional ARU addresses the past five-year trend and projected increases of run volume for EMS calls at Spokane Valley Fire. Having the new ARU will increase the availability of our ALS Engines and Ladder companies for life-threatening and more complex emergencies, reduce response cost, mileage, and wear on Engine and Ladder companies, and meet or exceed accreditation EMS benchmarks.
The location of Spokane Valley Fire ARU Units:
- Squad 8 – 2120 N. Wilbur (near Pines Rd)
- Squad 10 – 17217 E Sprague Ave (near Flora Rd)
In-service Date: November 2nd, 2020
