Valley Fire Crews Battle Fire in Snowstorm

Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 18309 E. Desmet Avenue shortly after 12 am on December 15. Two residents noticed flames on the second floor, called 911 and evacuated. Crews extinguished the fire within five minutes of arrival, limiting the fire damage to the second floor and attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SVFD crews quickly extinguished an early morning balcony fire in the Aspen Village Apartments. The cause of the fire is believed to be a space heater used on the balcony of the third floor apartment. Working smoke alarms likely saved lives in this fire.
