Join Us on Sept. 29 for our Annual Open House


Enjoy a day of FREE family FUN at our Annual Department Open House!

We’re open on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 am – 3pm with tons of hands-on activities, exciting demonstrations, and plenty of photo opportunities in firefighter gear, with firefighters, fire trucks including our newest Ladder 10, Smokey Bear, Sparky the Fire Dog and Mako the Retired Arson Dog.

Enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments all day. Visit with our first responder partners – AMR Ambulance, Avista, Department of Emergency Management, 911 Communications,  SCOPE Operation Family ID and Spokane Clean Air. Learn how to keep your family safer and healthier. Complete a “Passport to Fun!” and earn a cool prize! We’ll be handing out cool free giveaways including a new SVFD wall calendar!

All Day Demonstrations:

  • Fire Safety House – practice “Two Ways Out” for home fire safety
  • Kids Firefighter Challenge Course – pull and squirt a fire hose and more!
  • Try CPR and load the free Pulse Point app on your phone
  • Learn how to ‘Stop the Bleed’ – New!

  • 11:00 – Residential Fire Attack – live fire – New!
  • 11:30 – High Angle Ropes Technical Rescue
  • 12:00 – Motor Vehicle Extrication – “Jaws of Life”
  • 1:00 – Cardiac Arrest Simulation and CPR Rescue
  • 1:30 – Residential Fire Attack – live fire – New!
  • 2:00 – Avista – Power of Electricity
  • 2:30 – Rescue 3 Helicopter Takes Off
  • 3:00 – Gates Close

Event Location: 2411 N. Pioneer Lane
The event is held at the SVFD Training Tower and Maintenance facility, located just east of Sullivan Road and north of the Spokane River. From Sullivan Road, turn east on Marietta and follow the event parking signs.
