Spokane Valley Fire Department and the City of Spokane Valley, City of Millwood and City of Liberty Lake are rated a 2 by the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau (WSRB), on a scale of 1-10 (1 is highest). The unincorporated areas of the Spokane Valley Fire Department service area are rated a 3. The rating is established after a thorough analysis by WSRB of:
- Water supply
- Fire protection capabilities
- Fire suppression capabilities
- Emergency communication system
The better the WSRB rating, the lower the insurance rates for homeowners and businesses (varies by insurance carrier).
