Valley residents Matt Burson and Angel Fiorini are among the 20 men and women recently awarded the prestigious Carnegie Medal for outstanding civilian heroism. The medal is given throughout the United States and Canada to those who risk their lives to an extraordinary degree while saving or attempting to save the lives of others.

Firefighters Give Warmth, Create Smiles

Spokane Valley firefighters have visited seven elementary schools in the past four weeks, giving new coats to students, courtesy of “Operation Warm.” This new initiative, sponsored by Spokane Valley Firefighters Local 876, raised $6300 to purchase more than 325 new coats for Spokane Valley children in need.
