Fire Danger Burn Restrictions Now in Place

Effective, July 7, outdoor recreational fires and open burning are RESTRICTED due to fire danger. This means that any outdoor fire without a chimney — such as a backyard fire pit or campfire — is prohibited. Open burning of fields, garbage and yard waste is always prohibited at all times.

Today marks the first day on the job for Spokane Valley Fire Department’s newest Shift Battalion Chief (BC), Rob Proctor. BC Proctor was promoted on August 3 and has been assigned to B Shift, 2nd Battalion as Valley 22. He will supervise B shift crews working in stations 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10 as well as the SVFD Special Operations team.
